Non-Member: $65
Limit: 12 participants
Ages 12+

Materials provided for vessel by instructor:
Materials Fee $30 (to be paid directly to instructor upon arrival).

Create your own unique Fiber Fusion Vessel in class using wool, silk, bamboo, Firestar, Angelina and other fibers along with tidbits of your choice, all included in the materials fee! You'll make a pattern and arrange your fibers on a screen. Prepare the fibers to open them up, then easily apply the art varnish that will hold those fibers together. (This is NOT labor intensive like felting - woohoo!) You’ll carefully lift it off the screen and place the wet fiber fusion on a vase that's suspended upside-down on a stand to dry.

Learn lots of tips and tricks that make it easy to get spectacular results! You’ll complete your vessel in class and either take it home to dry, or you can leave it at the Center and pick it up in a few days when it's completely dry. A detailed color handout and tip sheet will be your reference for making more vessels at home, and fairy lights are included in your choice of 9 colors.

These fiber fusion vessels make nice gifts, bet you can't make just one! Debbie will also demonstrate how to bond silk fibers to a glass vase permanently. See many examples on the Vessels pages at www.debbiejones.com/silkfusionvessels.html

About Debbie Jones: Debbie Jones has been playing with fabric since early childhood, first making crafts and then clothes, quilts and fabric collage. Her passion and curiosity to try new things led her to discover fiber fusion, bonding wisps of unspun fiber together to create beautifully textured fabric that is stitched into many of her art quilts. She also shapes fibers while wet to make 3-D vessels that glow at night with fairy lights. These fiber techniques are similar to felting but with less labor and lots more fun! Debbie’s award winning fiber art has been displayed in galleries and at art shows, and is in collections around the world. Based in Albuquerque, she has been teaching her techniques nationwide for over 20 years, including at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu and the International Quilt Festival in Houston. See her artwork online or contact her with any questions at www.debbiejones.com.
