Feeling a little rusty on your warping skills? Feeling confident but want to learn even more warping techniques? Then this is the class for you. Students will be warping a 4 harness floor loom. Looms with be warped 12” Wide with 8/2 Tencel.

In this workshop you will be learning the complete ABC’s of warping! Refresh your skills with Dain and Vanessa… or learn from the beginning, all skill levels are welcome!

Students will be learning the full process of warping which includes the following:

-Finding the sett of the yarn
-Winding the warp on a warp board
-Dressing the loom fully, including threading the reed, threading the heddles, tying the warp on to the loom, and finally:
-Winding the warp on!

Students will only be warping the loom in this class, they will not be proceeding to the weaving process. If you are interested in weaving the loom you have warped, please sign up for Dayna Fisk-Williams class Free Style Weaving with Dayna Fisk-Williams: Saturday, October 26th. This warping class is in preparation for Dayna’s wonderful free style weaving workshop the following day!

Warping time varies. Some students may fully finish warping the loom in 4 hours (one day of class), others may need the entire 8 hours of class time and take two days to finish. Please be aware that you may finish the first day of class!

About Dain Daller and Vanessa Harris: Both Dain Daller and Vanessa Harris learned to weave at the Española Valley Fiber Arts Center. Dain and Vanessa have been weaving professionally since. Dain concentrates on ikat dyeing and multi harness pattern designs, and Vanessa concentrates on this as well as Rio Grande-esque tapestry weaving.

Class COVID-19 policy: There are no COVID-19 restrictions for this class. Please do not come to class if you are feeling sick, and it is always advised to wear a mask if you are comfortable doing so.

Class cancellation policy: Class cancellations 7 days or less prior to first day of class will receive no refund. 8-13 days before beginning of class, students will receive an 80% refund. 14 days or more before beginning of class: Full refund.
