Ages: 18+, Max participants: 10
All skill levels welcome!

Materials fee (paid directly to instructor upon arrival): $10

We will learn basic stitch resist patterns of shibori, small clamp resist techniques, and use of rubber bands. We will then mix an indigo vat for dyeing our projects. Expect to produce a velvet scarf and small sample pieces on cotton.

Indigo dyeing is messy so please wear old clothes and shoes!

Materials: Each student will receive one 9” x 54” silk scarf to dye with in this class. There will be additional silk scarves for sale available for purchase at EVFAC.

About Lynne Wallace: Lynne has a background in painting, which then translated into an obsession with dyeing and creating color on fibers. Although comfortable with dyeing repeatable colors and color matching for textile restoration, she also loves to experiment with materials and techniques.

Class COVID-19 policy: There are no COVID-19 restrictions for this class. Please do not come to class if you are feeling sick, and it is always advised to wear a mask if you are comfortable doing so.

Class cancellation policy: Please note: All Class cancellations are charged a $15 processing fee in addition to the following policy: Class cancellations 7 days or less prior to first day of class will receive no refund. 8-13 days before beginning of class, students will receive an 80% refund. 14 days or more before beginning of class: Full refund.
