This is a beginner class! Students will learn to silk screen and be fully trained to print in the EVFAC Silk Screen Lab after this course. Member students will be able to rent the Silk Screen Studio after this course.

Have you taken this course before? Brush up on your pre-existing silk screen skills, or learn even more techniques with David by repeating this course!

Have a design ready or create one from free files on internet. Class includes t-shirts and other donated goods found in the center, but highly recommended to bring extra cotton shirts, paper, non polyester fabric to print more!

Day 1: Students will learn how to prepare screens and art work. You will first coat your screen with emulsion, which will then dry over-night in a light tight room. After this, you will prepare your artwork on the computer while being assisted by David.

Day 2: On Day two all your hard work will pay off. You will first expose your artwork onto your emulsion coated screen, and then begin the printing process! You will be using water based silk screen inks and exploring the many possibilities with color mixing and printing on your hand made design. Be sure to bring plenty to work with, old clothing and scrap fabric work great, t-shirts, pillowcases, whatever you can think of!

Designs for the class: Students must bring their single color designs to the first day of class. Designs must be high contrast, and a single color: think: a logo, or a few printed words, or just a graphic image, line art, etc. This can be hand drawn, if a single color.

If you have questions about your design, please contact David:
