Sew a garment with Mika!

In this course you will learn how to cut from a pattern, seam and construct a fully lined vest!

The pattern is for a simple vest by Simplicity and you will have the option of adding buttons/closures, a cozy hood and/or pockets. You will even have the option of making it reversible!

In this course, we will keep it simple enough for you to be able to make these at home. Students will have full creative freedom in what material you want to use but I recommend a light-medium weight, non-stretch material for both the vest and the lining. You are more than welcome to large paper (available at the center), to copy this pattern, as I don't think it is available online.

Materials students must provide for class:
1 1/2 yards Fabric (non-stretch, medium weight)

1 1/2 yards lining fabric (non-stretch light-medium weight)

Fabric Clips (you can find these at walmart, they work much better than pins for this project, Pictured in the class images)

Sheers and fabric snips

Thread of your choice

Optional: 4 Buttons or closures of your choice Extra 1/2 yard fabric + lining for hoody

Materials provided for class:

Large Paper to copy sewing pattern
