Eco-Friendly Japanese Zori (Sandals!)
with Eri Yost

In this workshop, participants recycled unwanted T-shirts to create traditional Japanese cloth sandals, known as "nuno-zori."

These sandals are gentle on the feet and offer exceptional comfort. Through this eco-friendly, hands-on experience, we aim to promote a sustainable lifestyle.

Class Curriculum:
Material Preparation: Select unwanted T-shirts and learn how to cut them into fabric strips.
Basic Weaving Techniques: Use the fabric strips to weave the base of the sandals, mastering the fundamental weaving techniques.
Creating the Thong (Nose Strap): Craft the thong using braiding techniques and attach it to the sandal base.
Finishing and Adjustment: Shape the completed sandals and adjust them for optimal comfort, tailoring them to individual foot sizes.

Participants will engage in an eco-friendly crafting experience, contributing to a sustainable lifestyle.
