Join in on the holiday fun! This is a great class for all ages. Bring your favorite younger fiber friends along with you to join in on the fun!

Students will weave a paper star with paper strips in various sizes and colors in class. We will start with larger strips in order to learn the techniques, and then use smaller strips when everyone has learned the steps. The stars can be used as Christmas ornaments or made into other items to decorate the home for the holidays.

About Mia Jonsson:
Maria Jönsson studied textiles at Sigtuna Folk College in Sweden. She then went on to receive a BFA and an MA in Studio Art/Fiber Fabric at NIU. She hand weaves, knits, and crochets clothing, accessories, floor rugs & wall hangings.

Growing up in a Swedish home, the lead up to Christmas was always an exciting time. Her family spent time during the advent season making decorations to make the home festive for the holidays.
